Travel Abroad with only E-Visa

Hello! Has anyone travelled abroad recently with only E-Visa? I have been granted Settled Status on January, my BRC will expire on July and I'm planning to travel to my home country this summer for July and August. I did book appointment in a couple of weeks with UKVC for updating my card, however I'm not sure how long I have to wait for a new card. Just very worried it might delay my summer holiday, since I'm going with my child who has to come back UK for her new school year on September.
