Naturalisation application Mn1

Post by Butter_cookies » Thu Apr 18, 2024 9:04 am

Good morning got few question and need help please

Mother: naturalisation jan 2024
Father: ILR Oct 2022
Child under 18: ILR Oct 2022

My questions are (only child applying for naturalisation):

1. Choose which category to apply: please let me know if I chose the right answer
Born outside UK
Other: Apply at the discretion of the Home Secretary

2. Asking about mother’s nationality?
Since I was naturalised in Jan am I right to put British citizen on this question?

3. Grandparents details
I’m confused why they’re asking this if I didn’t choose the category under British descent. Do they ask this question to all?
Although they asked if did they become a citizens of UK by registration or naturalisation? NO is my answer is that right?

4. Have you made any previous UK immigration application? Do I really need to put all the previous application?
Enter your reference number if known? Is it the reference number of application or BRP number?

5. Documents

Proof of parental responsibility of mother or father - what document to submit for this? Is birth certificate enough? Or is there any other documents I needed to submit for this?

They’re asking for British grandparents birth certificate, registration or naturalisation certificate - but I didn’t apply for descent category so I’m bit confused about this

Thank you all in advance

Born outside UK

2. Asking about mother’s nationality?
Since I was naturalised in Jan am I right to put British citizen on this question? Is British your only nationality? If yes, then write that. If you held other nationalities before you can explain in a cover note

3. Grandparents details
I’m confused why they’re asking this if I didn’t choose the category under British descent. Do they ask this question to all?
Although they asked if did they become a citizens of UK by registration or naturalisation? NO is my answer is that right? The form is clunky and wants to cover all bases. Just answer No as grandparents were not naturalised/registered.

4. Have you made any previous UK immigration application? Do I really need to put all the previous application?
Enter your reference number if known? Is it the reference number of application or BRP number? Yes you need to enter reference numbers for your child, not BRP number. As many as you can find, at the best of your recollection. It won't affect statutory requirements.

5. Documents

Proof of parental responsibility of mother or father - what document to submit for this? Is birth certificate enough? Or is there any other documents I needed to submit for this? Birth certificate with parents' names on it.

They’re asking for British grandparents birth certificate, registration or naturalisation certificate - but I didn’t apply for descent category so I’m bit confused about this No need to provide as it doesn't apply to you

Thank you all in advance
