I fully agree.Proving ILR is indefinite makes no sense.
I hope that this will be the case and that the embassy worker won't be confused by the BRP expiration date. The only document which says that I have ILR is the BRP card. The Home Office decision letter does not explicitly mention the grant of ILR.ILR means indefinite leave to remain and embassy workers of other countries very likely know this
Agreed. Having a valid UK residence permit over the requested long term period is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for thr grant of a long term Schengen visa and the embassy may exercise discretion. If, howerever, the case worker were to incorrecly conclude that my UK residence permit expires on 31Dec24 then they would certainly not issue a Schengen visa with validity beyond 31Dec24.At the end of the day, it is up to the destination country to grant you a visa. Even having an ILR does NOT guarantee that you will be given long-term visa at all. This has nothing to do with your BRP expiry but the decision of the visa officer of another country.
