Travelling to Home Country During Dissertaiton Time

Post by Sheeba05 » Mon May 06, 2024 12:07 pm

I am pursuing my Masters and successfully completed two semesters. Now I am in third semester which requires to write the dissertation. I do not have any classes or exams due now. I have a medical emergency which requires me to travel my home country and my stay there would depend on my medical assessments and tests. Although, I am expecting it should not be more than a month or month and a half. So, my question is, If I travel to my home country for medical reasons and provide all the documents to prove my illness, will this travel affect my graduate visa after finishing my studies. As far as I know, there is a point system in graduate visa as well.

P.S. I have been elected a student sabbatical officer and would be working at the student union for 13 months starting July which would also require a student visa extension.

You just need to make sure your university is aware of your absence and agrees to it. It is they who assess your eligibility for the Graduate visa when the time comes, in terms of the "Study in the UK" requirement.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
