Travelling back on BRP expiry date

Hi,

My BRP with ILR was expiring on 20.05.24

i applied for replacement few weeks ago but have to now urgently travel abroad and can be back only on 20.05.24 to UK the same day of expiry date on BRP.

If anyone could kindly advice,

1- Can i travel with a pending application of the brp replacement in process?

2- Can i travel back on the expiry date of brp into UK?

3- Any urgent alternate options from home office

1. A pending BRP replacement application has no relevance to your travels
2. You can travel until the expiry date
3. If your BRP expires then you cannot get on a plane, so may need a 'replacement BRP visa'
