citizenship application

hi everyone

I applied for citizenship 3.12.2023...

I received email to say they need more time (more than 6 months)for enquiries etc..

how long is the maximum?? can they take a year?

is canceling this application and re applying hopefully file would reach a different case worker and get a decision...

i don't buy the enquiry excuse as some are getting a decision in 2 - 3 months ...

please advise...

You can email your MP, request a SAR and open a complaint with UKVI to chase your late application. Cancelling your existing one won't change anything. They have standard processing times of 6 months but in fact they can take as long as a few years in some cases. Follow instructions in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=343483
