Stamp 4 EU FAM

Hi,

I am an Indian citizen currently on Stamp 1 CSEP working in Ireland for the past 1.5 years. I can apply for Stamp 4 at the end of this year. My girlfriend is Romanian and lives in Romania. We are planning to get married in May, 2025 after which she will move to Ireland. Once she moves here, can I apply for Stamp 4 EU FAM even though I have Stamp 4 permit. I wanted to apply for Stamp 4 EU FAM permit as I can travel in Schengen countries without visa till I get the Irish citizenship. I had two questions.

1. Can a permit change from Stamp 4 to Stamp 4 EU FAM?
2. Is Stamp 4 EU FAM considered reckonable residence for Irish citizenship?

Nope. Unfortunately you cannot

You can change and it does count for citizenship; not sure where the person above got the other idea from.

Keep in mind she needs to have a job/study in Ireland/be self sufficient - just her being here is not enough, she would have to exercise Treaty Rights. And it may take a few months for decision to be made.
