Tier2 application

My brother is currently in the UK under the HSMP visa, which will expire in Feb 2009. For the extension, thereafter, would he need to apply for a fresh Tier 2 skilled worker visa or can he apply under the extension option?

Please note that his HSMP visa cannot be extended to Tier 1 visa due some personal circumstances.

Yes Harakiri... If he wants to apply for Tier 2 (General).. he has to go through a Fresh Tier 2 (General) process which involves:

1. A company to sponoser him..
2. company should have this new tier 2 sponser licence
3. Advertising process
4. get the certificate of sponsership
5. get Unique reference no to the employee
6. apply for tier 2 process..

But apologies, if there is some other opiton as well, this Tier2 is new and there are lots of new things everyday or questions still un answered..
