Employment letter - urgent - please help

Post by UKaspirant2009 » Tue Jan 06, 2009 7:59 am

Hi,

My employer is giving me a letter to verify my past earnings. But he is writing one line that "this letter is being issued for XXXX to apply for the visa at British high commission".

Please let me know if this line wont be a problem or should I ask my employer to replace 'birtish high commission' with Home office, UK Border agency.

PLease help..this is urgent

I dont think thats important as long as your employer issues you this letter on original letter head (ideal if they stamp it too). In this case it does not matter to whom the letter is addressed. You may also get it addressed as To Whom It May Concern.

Are they adamant on not changing the words. I dont think that would cause a would cause a problem . But my emp, gave me a letter in the following format

This is to certify that XXXXXXXXX is an employee of XXXXXXX working as XXXX since XXXXXXX.The total gross salary drawn by XXXXX during the period from XXXX to XXXX is XXXX. The net salary drwan during bthe period mentioned is XXXXX. Please find in the table below the breakup of both Gross and Net salaries individually by months, along with the date credited and the mode of payment for the period from XXXX to XXXX.

thanks for the reply...yah they are adament on not changing the words..the employer said he will write the purpose for issuing the letter.

Though the employer has not stamped it..it is on the official letter head with the contact details of the HR person..Please advice on whether this is fine.

Also, will the BHC call the HR manager for verification and tell them that I have applied work permit??. That may be disasterous...please tell me how they proceed. Anyone who has experienced it.

I think it should be fine, but get the table indicating salary drawn by you by each month both net and gross. The table should match the payslips and the bank statement entries.

As far as getting the stamp on a letterhead is concerned Maybe seniors can throw some more light on this.
