How likely is my mother to get her Visitor Visa approved without any bank statements? (trip sponsored by me)

Post by a_london1 » Sat Jul 20, 2024 1:58 pm

I am seeking advice and experiences regarding the likelihood of my mother’s 2-year visitor visa being approved based on our circumstances.

I’ve done targeted research reviewing people's posts about visitor visa on this forum and understand that bank statements are still helpful for the application even if a trip is sponsored by an inviting party.

I also know there are no official requirements for showing ties to your home country and intention to return, but I’d like to know if anyone is aware of successful cases similar to ours where financial documents weren’t provided.

Here are the details of my mother's situation:
  • From Kyrgyzstan.
  • Her intended trip will be fully sponsored by me. I can provide all necessary documents, including 6 months of payslips (£70K salary), bank statements, and proof of £15,000+ in savings.
  • She owns two flats in the country in her name.
  • Works as a self-employed, selling bags and clothing on Instagram and on fairs/exhibitions. All transactions are in cash, and she doesn’t use a bank account. She will provide self-employed tax registration documents but no direct income or savings documentation.
  • Rents out one flat and can provide lease documents as proof of auxiliary income, but again, all transactions are in cash.
  • Occasionally looks after her aunt, bringing her products and medicine (can provide a letter from the aunt about this).
  • Has a history of one successful UK visa application from about 5 years ago, with two compliant visits.
  • No other trips abroad in the last 10 years
  • She is divorced but living with her long-term partner in her flat (he is staying in Kyrgyzstan)
  • We will book AirBnb for her to stay
  • She plans to stay in London for 2-3 weeks for my small marriage ceremony in the local register office in October this year. We have an official registration date.
  • We want to apply for two years because we want her to visit me in the UK a few times over the next few years
Main Question:
Are people aware of success with a similar situation where the applicant did not provide financial documents but was fully sponsored by the inviting party? In general, how would you assess my mother's application? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Side note: She opened a bank account now so she can deposit her savings (£2000) and use it for transactions over the next 6 months to provide bank statements. However, we’d like her to come to my wedding in October this year, so we are looking to avoid having to provide this if possible and submit the application without her bank statements.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Seems you're on the right path. She's been here before, that would help. Use similar documents as previous visa application.

I reckon she should be fine. Fingers crossed.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
