citizenship for our kid born in the UK before we got ILR.

Post by santosh6198 » Fri Jul 26, 2024 3:12 pm

Hi

I have a similar query where my Daughter is born in UK and we have been living in the country from last 5 years and Myself and MY wife have got ILR last week.

I am filling in the MN1 forms which has raised some questions, can you please help me here

1) Is there a requirement of minimum stay of 5 years for my daughter in UK before she applies. She was born in March 2016 in UK, but we left UK and entered again on 10th Aug 2019.

SO technically she will complete 5 years of stay only on 10th Aug 2024. Is it important that i need to submit the application only once she completes the stay of 5 continuous years in UK which is after 10th Aug 2024.

Appreciate your response.

Thank you

A UK born child is entitled to register immediately after a parent is granted ILR. There are no other requirements.
