Document Upload Issue

Post by Ibzzzz » Wed Jul 31, 2024 3:20 pm

I started the application for my wife's naturalisation citizenship, attended the biometric appointment with ALL the necessary documents. Which I thought was scanned at the time, and was told at the end of the appointment the application had been submitted.

However, since then (I don't know when), I've been asked to submit my wife's Pakistani Passport again. This is a document I had when I went to the appointment so I'm a little confused. I've now scanned and submitted both her old & new passport through the UKVCAS site.

Has anyone had this issue before? Will those new scans be added to the application? I'd greatly appreciate any advice.

To clarify -

1 - I've received no update or request from UKVI or UKVCAS to upload documents.
2 - On the homepage of the UKVCAS site there's no mention of this, it's only when I went to 'document upload' did I notice this request (it could have been there for months)
3 - I had both my wifes old and new passport scanned at the biometric appointment. Could it have been something specific that was missed?

Thnk you and sorry for the long post

Specific answer can not be privileged as we don't know the inner workings of HO or what triggered the request.
We do know on here that such happens.
Provide what is requested and wait for outcome.

Thanks, I appreciate your response.

I've uploaded it all on ukvcas. I suppose now it's best to wait? Or could I ring ukvi for an update?

It's good to know that it happens. Just concerning don't want spend money and go through it all again.

How did you do this?

After you attend biometrics at the UKVCAS centre all communications come from UKVI. Actually the acknowledgement email after supporting information is submitted says so.
All updates about your application will come from UKVI directly and NOT from UKVCAS.

UKVI will be in touch directly if they need any additional information from you and to let you know their decision about your application.
Unless they can make some exceptions? (which I doubt)

Calling UKVI help centre will not make any difference, they will not give you any update. These are not UKVI staff and usually providing generic (and inaccurate) advice.

Where did the request come from? Were you instructed to upload it on UKVCAS? You could send it to UKVI directly just in case.

I did this through the UKVCAS site, it's where I noticed the request for additional documents. In this case Original Passport Issued by Pakistani Government (for which we have two, old & new)

The UKVCAS let me upload it nothing beyond that.

It came from the UKVCAS site, I just happened to click on the Document Upload Tab and it was notification at the bottom to upload. Do you maybe know the email for UKVI that I should try? How long do they normally take to respond?

I have noticed on the UKVCAS home page this -

If we have asked you to upload more documents, you can do so and we’ll send these to UKVI. We’ll contact you if you need to have your biometrics taken again.

I'm guessing this request for the passport falls within this.

Agreed. Follow the procedure as you were instructed - if UKVI needs anything else they will get in touch.
