Naturalisation timeline with previous appeal for appendix fm

Post by maxlife123 » Fri Aug 09, 2024 4:14 pm

Hi

I am a non-eu national. I came to the uk under appendix fm application for joining mother.

My first application rejected due to insufficient evidence for sole responsibility.
Second application was also rejected but then approved after an appeal/court hearing.

Now I am applying to citizenship. Do the above rejected applications and the appeal affect my application timeline. I saw most applications get approved within 2 months. Is there anything I need to specifically provide in addition to normal documentation ?

How old are you now? Have you got ILR?

I was granted ILR when I enter the UK. I am 24 now. I have lived in the uk more than 5 years.

The refusals and subsequent successful appeal should not affect your naturalisation’s eligibility. Do declare what had happened in the application.

Thanks for the reply. Would my application take long to decide than other applications ? ( I saw most applications get decided within 2 months as for the recent postings in this website. )

We can't give an indication as to processing time on any scenario.
UKVI's target is 6 months (not guaranteed), but many applications are approved in less than 6 months, with some being lucky at 2 months. I think the average is 3 to 4 months, however some will be above the 6 months mark. Unfortunately there are also members here waiting in excess of 12 months. There's never an indication as to why an application was decided fast or many months past the target.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
