Outside of UK for continous 180 days

Hi,

I am currently on Skilled Worker VISA and visiting my home country for a few months. I have been told by my colleagues that I cannot be outside UK for continous 90 days but I have read that you can stay outside UK for no more than 180 days.

Is this true that I have to come back before 90 days? Or I can continously live for 170 days and come back.
