Hi all,
I remember this forum being a great deal of help when my wife applied for FLRM. Now the time has come to apply for ILR/ SET-M.
I think we are pretty well prepared but I would be very grateful if someone knowledgeable could help me on the following points to check I'm not missing something important.
1. My understanding is that you can first apply 5 years less 28 days from entry. My wife entered UK on 7th September 2019 so we are past that. Just need to check if there is any potential issue with:
(a) Answering "How long have you lived in the UK?" = 4 years 11 months on the form
(b) We'd like to do super priority if it's available. Could there be any problems with the ILR actually being granted before the full 5 years from entry is up?
2. For the following:
Are you part of any social groups or do you have other cultural ties in your country of birth, nationality or any other country where you have lived for more than 5 years?
She intends to answer - "I have lived in the UK for 5 years now – my husband and I work here. The only reason for me to return to Thailand is to visit family and some close friends" - is this ok?
3. For the following:
Please explain why you and your partner cannot live together outside the UK
She intends to answer "My husband and his family live in the UK. My husband is a qualified xxxx under UK regulations. These skills would be difficult to transfer to Thailand" - is this ok?
4. I'm concerned that our marriage certificate is not included in the requested documents - I intend to submit it anyway but is is possible I've done something wrong?
Thanks very much for any help.
