Proof of residence for non-EEA

Post by Lchernysh » Mon Aug 19, 2024 3:24 pm

Hi,
I’m applying for naturalisation based on 5 year + 1year on ILR as non-EU.
Have 2 questions:
1) I got ILR on 05/09/2023, can I apply on 05/09/2024?

2) As far as I understood from this forum the proof of residence is basically all my passports with the UK’s entrance stamps.
What if on the return from my last trip last February I didn’t get any stamp as they don’t seem to stamp passports anymore. Should I provide any evidence of my return to the UK? Or should it be on their system?

Thanks!

1) I personally would apply from 06/09/2024 onwards, for piece of mind. Also remember that you must have been physically present in the UK on the same date of the application five years back.

2) Missing stamps on the passport are not an issue at all. You will manually input the trips/absences in the form.

Thank you!
so are there no need to provide any other documents as a proof of residence except all passport pages?

One more question, if possible, please - does the referee order matter in application: who should go first and who should go second? How will they figure out who is professional and who is “just” british citizens?

For ILR holders passport with stamps is sufficient. This is not an immigration application where you have to provide tons of documents.

Order of referees is irrelevant. The British referee provides a British passport number. Ensure they have a valid passport.
