What happens to an ILR holder's eVisa after naturalisation?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum so apologies if this has been discussed before (I did search but didn't find anything specific on this).

What happens to an ILR holder's eVisa after they are naturalised? Will it be disconnected on the day of their citizenship ceremony? Or when their first UK passport is issued? Or will it always show the same message that the person has a settled status?

Once person becomes British, that is once ceremony attended, their immigration status before then is no longer relevant.

It may still show up on immigration systems. However, citizen can’t hold an immigration status.

Not sure what the concern is.

For EUSS, it may show in their system forever (I checked mine a few months ago and it was still showing up as settled status, I naturalised in October 2023). Not that it matters though.

Imagine this situation: Someone is a visa national and has their settled status linked to their non-UK passport. After they become a UK citizen, they use their UK passport to go in and out of the country and their non-UK passport is still valid. Now they need to return to the UK from abroad but their UK passport is lost or expired, can they travel on their non-UK passport? If eVisa is still accessible as far as the airline check-in desk is concerned, they would be allowed to board the flight back to the UK. Of course the alternative is to get help from the British Embassy where they are, but I doubt they'd do that if they were an EU passport holder - it makes life much easier if they just fly back to the UK and then replace the lost passport.

British embassies can provide an emergency travel document to British citizens so you can get back to the UK.
But essentially you are hoping your backstop is an eVisa that may or may not work.

It is advised that once one obtains British citizenship they use their UK passport to travel.
If a UK national that has no other passport lost their travel document while abroad, they would need to obtain an emergency travel document to travel back - the same applies to dual nationals that may have their other passport on them. Advise against loopholes that could get people in way more trouble than it is worth.
