Pre-settle - eVisa

Post by stopz » Wed Sep 18, 2024 12:32 pm

Good afternoon,

I am holding Pre-settle status from my partner who is EU Citizen residing in UK. my current BRC will expire on December 2025 which also will be the date when I can apply for Settled status.

I have several short international holidays planned for next year and I have heard that from December 2024, we will need eVisa to prove our status. Gov website stated that everyone who has EU Scheme Status should have UKVI account but i guess not me? I went to VAC to get my biometric, therefore I wasn't dealing with any UKVI account or advises to make 1 back then.

When i try to make a UKVI account to evidence my status, I wasn't able to as there are no option for BRC, only BRP and I did try which then the UK Immigration app said that I scanned a wrong document and eventually failed after many tries.

I ofc will travel with my BRC card in hand, but just wondering after December 2024 if my card will still valid when arriving in the UK, or if there are any potential issue?

Can you confirm you applied under the EUSS at some point ie https://apply-to-visit-or-stay-in-the-u ... ov.uk/euss I am concerned you have never applied under the EUSS and only have a BRC under the old rules?

I believe I apply under EUSS that is why I have a pre-settle status? sorry I am not quite familiar about this.
I had a BRC as Family Member - EU Residence on 27.11.2020 and then after that I apply for pre settle status (I assume EUSS?) and granted on 16.12.2020.

Searching through my emails, I have found the last email addressing me as EU Settlement Scheme status holder
"Dear EU Settlement Scheme status holder,
You are receiving this email because you currently hold pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS)....."
this email was from last year August 2023 about automatically extension after pre-settlement finished and nothing about e-Visa.

Any help is really appreciated as I am confused and not sure what to do.

Also to add that my BRC stated type of permit as
EU Scheme Pre-Settlement

What shall I do next..... :(

Then you should have an eVisa already, try and log on to your UKVI account - https://www.gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status
