Payment for Irish citizenship from Northern Ireland

Post by wynelson » Tue Oct 08, 2024 11:02 pm

I live in Northern Ireland and got an approval letter for Irish citizenship, But not sure how to fill in the form to pay. There is a section for Irish resident permit which I don't have as living in Northern Ireland. What did you fill in? Thanks

Go to > https://inisonline.jahs.ie/user/login
Login with your credentials
Expand "Applications for Naturalisation" section
Click on "begin application" button for Citizenship Certificate Fee

This should help.

Hi wynelson,

For my wife's fee (NI as well) - as far as I remember the webpage insisted on something in the IRP number field, so we put in something like XX999999 that fit the field character requirements. (sorry - can't recall exactly what the required format was). but it was entered with letters/numbers that were clearly not a valid number on purpose. Then we also uploaded her UK residence permit as an attachment.

This was then all processed without issue. Hope that helps.

For what it's worth, I put in my UK Residency card number without the preceding letters
I also uploaded two images of it, one for the IRP/GNIB and the other for the Residence Permit Card (along with the requested passport biometric page). The system wouldn't let me progress without uploading a document for each of these fields.

My payment was processed without issue - so I take it they asses NI-based applications with a reasonable understanding of the limitations of the system.
