skilled oworker eligibility spouse

Post by ederson231 » Mon Oct 28, 2024 4:17 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm seeking clarification on the current rules regarding dependants for healthcare skilled workers. Specifically, if someone came to the UK as a healthcare skilled worker before the recent rule change limiting dependant visas, can they still bring in a spouse who they intend to marry in the near future. Does it matter that the partner was not the spouse of the visa holder prior to the rule change?

Any insights on whether the timing of the marriage affects eligibility or if the original visa conditions still apply would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Don't think someone you are not legally married to and still intending to marry can be defined as a spouse and on this premise what you seek to clarify does not apply/is a nullity. Does it matter that the partner was not the spouse of the visa holder prior to the rule change?

Any insights on whether the timing of the marriage affects eligibility or if the original visa conditions still apply would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

To clarify, when they marry, will they be able to bring their spouse to the UK as a health care skilled worker who arrived pre-rule change but married after the rule change.

Hope this make sense
