Dependent Child Status

Post by Parelkasher » Sun Jan 05, 2025 11:14 pm

Hello

I am on a skilled worker visa since 2023 and my wife and 17 year old daughter moved with me as dependents when I came to the UK. I will be eligible to apply for the ILR in 2028. My daughter turns 18 this year and plans to pursue university education (undergrad) in the US. She will continue to be financially dependent on me and not marry over the next 4 years but will be studying in the US (and visiting UK a few times a year).

My questions are as below:
1. Will she be able to return to the UK as my dependent in 2029 after her university education?
2. If not will she need a visitor visa to enter the UK between now and 2029?
3. WIll she be eligible for ILR with me in 2028?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
PKS
