Happy New Year!
I applied for daughter's first Brit passport. She was born abroad and came to the UK on my wife's passport. My wife surrendered her passport to the embassy in the UK and since then has renewed her passport. My daughter has a current foreign passport which I sent to HMPO along with her naturalisation certificate.
HMPO has just sent me the following email:
I sent daughter's documents along with my wife's in a single envelop. I hope the HMPO did not misplace or lose the documents. My wife's passport application was approved which is reassuring. We have not received [daughter]’s most recent foreign passport, travel document or identity document.
We need you to send the original document or colour photocopy, so we can check if the name matches the name they have asked us to show on their British passport.
We will not issue a British passport in a different name.
Please also send the passport on which [daughter] first entered the UK.
We also need you to send an additional document to help us complete your application.
Other evidence we need from you
To help us complete [daughter]’s application, we need their registration certificate – order an official copy at: https://www.gov.uk/get-replacement-citi ... ertificate.
To get an official copy of a document that was issued by a foreign country, contact the authority that issued the original document.
Has anyone experiences this before? What did you do?
I wanted to send a letter explaining this to the officer. Should I use the same address to which I sent the documents?
Thank you!
