wife's eligibility for British citizenship

Post by kumar48 » Tue Jan 07, 2025 1:47 pm

Hi everyone,
I need some advice regarding my wife's eligibility for British citizenship.
She has been on a spouse visa since August 2019 and was an ILR dependent when we got married.
Recently, she obtained ILR through the 5-year spouse route, just 5 days ago.
I became a British citizen in 2021 through naturalization.

Given this, can my wife apply for British citizenship straight away, or does she need to wait for 12 months after getting ILR?
Would appreciate any guidance.
Thanks!

She can apply straightaway if she meets all other requirements.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
