Residency proof - just passport

My wife was recently granted settlement and we have been filling in the forms to apply for citizenship. We have two suitable referees but neither live near us. My question is whether I can digitally insert a photo into the form and email it to them? They would then print, sign and scan it back to me.

All the guidance talks about attaching a photo and signing it (I know we don’t need to do the signing part). I wanted to be sure on the digital image as I think it will be obvious that is what I did - otherwise I will just have to get some taken and post them off which seems pointless for something that will be uploaded anyway.

I did look through this forum for this question but couldn’t find a clear answer on this topic so thanks for any help.

I think I am right in this but someone wrote something and caused me to have a panic. We have applied for citizenship for my wife. She has a passport which is always stamped at the border and we have only travelled twice in the last 3 years anyway.

We have scanned her current and previous passports in full so have covered the whole of the last 3 years (5 actually). I believe this is the only proof we need of residency as it shows when she entered the country and also entry and exit stamps at her destinations. It ties in with the trips mentioned in her application.

I guess if they have any questions they will come back and ask? We didn’t submit anything else to support how many days she has been here.
