UNIVERSAL CREDIT HEALTH ASSEMENT REFUSE

Post by askim3646 » Mon Jan 20, 2025 3:59 pm

About 4 months ago, I had a problem with my knee, and my doctor gave me a 3-month report. During this time, I was not working. Universal Credit Health Assessment sent me a U50 form, and I attended an interview where they asked me questions. Today, I received a rejection saying they did not accept it. My question is, I have another 2-month report, and during this time, I am under hospital care and going to physiotherapy. Can Universal Credit tell me to work, or will they give me time until my report ends? Thank you, I will be waiting for your answer.

Unless your condition has significantly worsened or it’s a new condition, they’ll not accept the fit note for another assessment. You can challenge the work capability assessment decision with a mandatory reconsideration, see - https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benef ... ideration/

In terms of your work related requirements, you will be subject to them, you’ll have to do what your work coach directs otherwise you’ll face a sanction, you can request that reasonable adjustments are made and that your work searches or applications are reduced.

Also consider PIP - https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benef ... arers/pip/
