stamp 1G for future wife already in IE

Post by Salimwin10 » Wed Jan 29, 2025 8:17 am

Hi all,
i will explain my situation in a few points below:

- I have stamp 1 Critical skills

- my fiancee graduated with a masters degree in sep 2023, so she's in her last year of 1G under third level graduate scheme ( it will expire in september 2025 )

- We are getting married in February, and she wants to switch from the !G under third lever graduate scheme to !G under spouse of CSEP holder

- My question is : is it just a renewal even though the 1G is for a different purpose ?
what is the process in this case ?

Thanks in advance for your help ,

Your financee will have to apply for De facto Partner Scheme on https://inisonline.jahs.ie

Once you get married she can simply apply for a change of permission online, just like a normal renewal.

Here is what you need to do.

Get married here or in your country get the marriage certificate.

Just open the online portal no matter which ever county you are in. Now online renewal is available all over Ireland.

To get her the stamp 1G. You will the following document

1. Her previous stamp if any
2. Her passport scanned copy
3. Her signature on paper.
4. She should have an insurance
5. She should have a relationship proof like marriage certificate - copy not original not even certified.

Remember if you are getting married in other country it has to be in English else you will be asked to get it translated.

If it's from Ireland happy days it's straight away accepted.
Then comes your documen this has to be supplied in her application such as

1. Your irp scanned copy
2. Your passport copy
3. Work permit proof
4. Residence proof for address it can be for her as well just for them to send the renewed irp. It could be just the latest bank statements like current one month with current address.

That should be it. Again I got my wife visa and irp process so it's all similar and very straightforward. In your case it will be equally swift as she is already here.

Only sad part is they give 1 year visa which is irritating as you will again have to submit same documents every year till she gets eligible for stamp 4 after 4-5 years.

I think that's it. May be such have
