ILR & US Greencard

Post by aws2 » Thu Jan 30, 2025 1:34 pm

Hi,

I've ILR in UK. I am eligible to apply for US Greencard as my priority date is current. If I get US Greencard, will I lose ILR status?

Regards

Both ILR and Greencard requires you stay in the respective counries. You have to lose one eventually.
Only way is geting British passport as soon as possible so that you can live in US without any restrictions.

ILR is only lost after 24 months of continuous absence from the UK
