British passport applications for children may take around six months.
There's another option, apply for a Certificate of Entitlement-Right of Abode, taking about 8 weeks per the guidance: https://www.gov.uk/right-of-abode/apply ... ntitlement
However, child would need a foreign passport into which the CoE is affixed. So the wait for a local passport needs to be factored in.
Once in the UK child can apply for a UK passport.
