India eVisa 30 day validity

Hello lovely people,

I am looking for advice from the forums admins and/or people's experiences of travelling to India on 30 day e-visa.
My OCI application is on process and I don't expect to receive it in next 6 weeks. However, I plan to visit India in next 2 weeks and will be applying for 30 day e-visa.
My question is, once the visa is issued, when does the validity of the visa start? Is it from the day electronic visa is granted or from the date of arrival in India.
Also does the expiry date the date when one can last enter India. So if the visa expires on 20th March, does that mean, I can enter India until the 20th March and can stay on India for a maximum of 30 days from the date I enter India?
