My Child was born Abroad (Outside of the Republic of Ireland)

Post by Afonso111 » Mon Mar 03, 2025 9:38 am

Greetings,

My child was born abroad, my wife and I are on STAMP 4, due to personal circumstance she had to go and give birth abroad.

I know the baby would only qualify for Citizenship if he was born Born here (in the Republic of Ireland).

I would like to know what ways we have to bring the baby over to Ireland, what is the process and if someone had gone through it, I would really appreciate any help or information.

Regards

Get a passport from your country, apply for IRP, then bring baby over.

Hi,

If your wife's IRP has expired, she needs to apply for visa for herself and the baby. The visa has to be 2 separate online applications. Documents used for the main applicant can also be used for the child's.

***What's the basis for your spouse stamp 4?

On arrival to the state your wife has to apply for residence permit. her permit covers the child's residence.

If the IRP is still valid and she hasn't exceeded the allowed duration for travelling outside the state, she just has to apply for visa for the child.
