Can I enter UK with UK passport to expire in 6 months

Hi All,

I am living in India for the last 9 1/2years and my passport is about to expire and I want to know whether can enter UK from India with the validity of my British passport has only 7 months . I am planning to come to UK just for passport renewal next month so it would be less than 6 months can I travel to Uk. And also I have a default credit card and has a county court judgement which is not settled and showing in my credit report. Will it effect in entering UK and renewal my British passport. And if any chance If I cannot travel can I renew from India and as mentioned above will it be a problem to renew from India. please guide me thank you

You can technically enter the UK even with an expired UK passport, however to board a flight your UK passport must be valid.

CCJ for credit card debt is not an issue for passport renewal.

I assume that your are a British citizen. If you have other type of British nationality then it might be different.
