British passport online application wrong naturalisation number

I have submitted the online application for first adult British passport after naturalisation .

Certificate number was mentioned to be filled as 7 digit from left bottom so I have entered the details at bottom as they are 7 digits instead of actual certificate number which is 8 digit issued by home office.

Could anyone please help me how to rectify this. Current status is waiting for identity confirmation.

The examiner will probably fix it once they receive your documents.

They are waiting for your referee to confirm your identity. You still have to send documents, right? You could try to enclose a cover note in your envelope to explain the mistake or withdraw the application if you want to be sure. You will have to pay again though.

Yes you are correct waiting for referee to confirm today, will send the documents along with a covering letter to explain the mistake that I have entered the 7 digit Certification Registration Number in the application instead of 8 digit Certificate Number provided by Home Office .
