Naturalization Request for Further Information

Hi there, I filed my application for naturalization online in December 2023 (5 years Irish residency as a Channel Islands British Citizen). I went through to doing my Garda eVetting in May 2024. But I haven't heard anything since. My question is if they ask for further documentation and information would they send a letter in the post or do they email you? I haven't heard anything at all since my Garda eVetting and wonder if they sent a letter that went missing - because I haven't received any requests for further information by email. When I received requests for further information (mostly additional copies of things I'd already supplied ) in 2023 they arrived by post.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I had thought that having completed my eVetting they were past the point of asking for more documents. But like I say I am anxious why it's all gone quiet.
Another post on this forum I now read said that they communicate by email on everything except the final Approval Letter, but clearly your experience is different.
I don't have a number to phone to ask them.

What does it say on your portal? What’s the current status? What’s the last updated timestamp?

Thanks, maybe others have been more successful with that citizenship app, but I spent ages trying to get it to work, fiddling with my ID, etc. Still didn't work.

Their ID verification partner IDPal is known to have issues from time to time. Try to register a new account with your partner/kid/friend’s phone number if possible. All queries are now handled in that portal so it would be difficult to contact them without an account.

Having said that, you can always write a letter to them to ask for an update. They are obliged to reply to any letter inquiries. It may take a month or two before they get back to you but it’s at least a reliable method to guarantee a response.
