Parent Visa query

I am indian and my daughter is british by naturalisation. we both are in india and my daughter is 17 yrs old. I had a divorce 6 yrs ago so i am single parent. my ex wife was also british by naturalisation. now my daughter wants to study in UK . Can i get family visa on behalf of my daughter.
I know there is requirement that child should be in UK. can i send my daughter to my friends place in UK and later apply for family visa from india?
What is the best way to get visa?
