Indefinite Leave to remain (10 year long residence route)

Post by ShruSh » Wed Mar 26, 2025 12:43 pm

Hello Immigration Board Team,

I am seeking your guidance regarding my eligibility for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the United Kingdom under the 10 year long residence route.

I first arrived in the UK on 25th April 2015 on a Tier 2 ICT Short-Term visa (valid from 24/04/2015 to 25/04/2016).
As my visa was nearing expiry, I travelled to India on 21st April 2016 to apply for a Tier 2 ICT Long-Term visa, which was granted with validity from 10/05/2016 to 10/05/2021. I returned to the UK on 17th May 2016.

Before the Tier 2 ICT Long-Term visa expired, I transitioned to a Skilled Worker visa. The application was submitted prior to the expiry of my ICT visa, and my new BRP was issued on 9th June 2021 which is valid for 5 years. I have remained on the Skilled Worker route since then.

As of April 2025, I will have completed 10 years of continuous residence in the UK. I would like to understand whether I am eligible to apply for ILR under the 10-year long residence route.

I would greatly appreciate your advice on this.

Thanks,
Shru
