Hi everyone,
I hope you’re doing well.
I’m seeking some advice regarding travel to Turkey. Both my 11-year-old son and I are Indian nationals holding UK residency permits, which are valid until September 2025. However, these permits will transition to an electronic residency permit format starting December 2024.
We have a holiday planned to Turkey and are flying from Luton Airport (UK) to Antalya on 27th December 2024, returning on 3rd January 2025.
According to the Turkish e-visa application website, it states:
"I have a valid Supporting Document (Valid visa OR valid residence permit from one of the Schengen Countries, USA, UK or Ireland). E-visas are not accepted as supporting documents."
Since my BRP has been converted to an electronic format, I’m now very worried about whether this will be accepted.
Here are my concerns:
1. For the Turkish e-visa application, I used the share code as the document number for the UK visa (residency permit) and successfully obtained a tourist e-visa. Can anyone confirm if this is correct and sufficient?
2. Upon our return to the UK, will a printed copy of the electronic residency permit be enough for re-entry?
I’ve already submitted an inquiry through the Turkish e-visa website (https://evisa.gov.tr/) over a week ago but haven’t received a response. Since I’ve made partial payments for the holiday and need to complete the full payment by Today (29th Nov, 2024), I’d like to be sure everything is in order before proceeding.
Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry for posting it here as don’t know where else to post.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
Hiren
