Schengen Visa from India through BLS

Post by kt786k » Mon Mar 31, 2025 12:12 am

Hi,

I am UK Citizen (resident in UK) but my wife and my daughter is in India and are Indian Citizen.
I am applying for Schengen visa for my family from India through BLS.
I had a question about Visa for my Daughter.
On BLS website it says that
If the applicant is under 18 years old and is applying alone or with/without both parents or legal guardians: (this is true for my daughter as I am in UK and my daughter is applying for visa from India with my wife)

the application form must be signed by both parents or legal guardians.
it will be necessary to submit a notarized authorization letter signed by both parents or legal guardians.
it will be necessary to submit self-attested copies of the passports of both parents or legal guardians.

Is above necessary? My family is travelling to Europe directly from India and I am from UK and we are going to have Europe holiday together. All my bookings hotel/flights include all of our names. And I am going to provide a cover letter and passport copy of my passport in Visa application form for my family.

If notarized authorization letter signed by myself is needed, Is there anyway I can get a notarized authorization letter in UK about this?

Thanks,
Kedar

Notarized letters are not required. A simple signature would do. You're going on a holiday, not moving there.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
