Indian passort surrendering in india

Hi,
My kids are aged about 15 and 11. we have 2 passports UK and INDIA. During covid we went to india and got struck there. we would like to surrender INDIA passport in india now.

can we travel to UK with the surrender certificate? is there objection at india airports? we have UK passport so i dont see issue in entering UK . but exiting INDIA not sure how this works?

Its illegal to have dual passports in India. It should have been surrendered with 3 months of acquiring foreign citizenship. You can enter UK but cant leave India without paying heavy exit fees.
