Hi Everyone,
After completing my PhD, the University of Swansea has invited me to continue my research there. They’ve granted me a 4.5-year student visa, and my husband and son have been given dependent visas.
I have a few questions regarding this:
My husband has a stable and well-paying job in the UAE. Would it be worth it for him to relocate to the UK (likely around Wales)?
Will his dependent visa count toward qualifying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)?
The goal is to provide our 14-year-old son with better opportunities in terms of university and life choices.
Our plan is to eventually return to the UAE, where we’ve lived for over 20 years, after completing the research and obtaining ILR. I’m wondering if the time spent now will count toward ILR and if our son will be eligible for UK university entry in four years.
Best regards,
