Question about proof of residency

Post by laois78 » Wed Apr 09, 2025 3:38 pm

Long time living in Ireland, about 15 years, Eu- citizen. Thinking of applying for citizenship and was looking at the citizenship guidance.
As a Type A proof for residency there is an option Employment Detail Summary, then P60 which is basically the same I believe, or Department of Social Protection annual statement or bank statement.
I have been self employed in past 10 years, would be the Self assessments from the revenue count as the same as the Employment Detail Summary? Or as a self employed I have only the 2 last option?
Thanks in advance.

Self assessment statements are it accepted as any person could claim to be self-employed in Ireland.

You should be able to request for a contribution statement in a few seconds on https://services.mywelfare.ie/en/topics ... statement/

Or just submit your bank statements showing regular POS transactions in Ireland.

I guess it is a typo and meant to write self assessment are *not accepted. Is this correct?
I did request a contribution statement, received in few seconds, its only one page with all the years in it, in a small table format. Is that all? Seems too easy to be true that one sheet of document would be sufficient as a proof of residency. But a self assessment is be not sufficient. This is strange for me.

Yeah you are right. Auto correction at its best :D
Yes that one pager is sufficient.
