Applying for ILR currently being on dependent Visa

respected community members,

I am nearing for my ILR application with 10 year route. when i am redyeing my details i noticed the SUR name in the HMRC system is incorrect ( i got a very really long name in records ( first name + middle name + last name + Surname) .. Quite a long name in fact) .

In my HMRC records of form P60, i noticed my surname is incorrect (ie.. last name is printed in place of Surname).

just for EG..

lets say the full name is

Germanicus ( first name ) Julius( middle name) Caesar ( last name) Claudius ( Surname)

In form 60 its appearing as :

Surname : Caesar
Given Names: Germanicus Julius

My question, whether this will create a problem during my ILR application. should i get this corrected in HMRC system . if i get this corrected in HMRC system my form P60 would still have that incorrect naming.

Kindly advise if some one know about the right course of action so as to not get my ILR case affected in future.

Don't think this is an issue - it's impossible to have names aligned on all government systems, let alone on private systems like employers'.
As long as you use your name in the application as per your ID document, i.e. passport.

Dear community members,

I am approaching the qualification date for my 10-Year ILR application and would like to seek clarification regarding my eligibility, particularly concerning minor gaps in my visa history.

From my understanding, the 10-year long residence route permits certain absences, but I am uncertain about how the rules apply to my specific circumstances.

Below is a summary of my visa history:

Entered the UK on 5 May 2015 with entry clearance under a Tier 2 ICT visa, valid until 26 June 2016.

Departed the UK on 29 May 2016, prior to the visa's expiration.

Applied for a new visa on 3 July 2016 from my home country and re-entered the UK with valid entry clearance under a Tier 2 visa on 30 July 2016.

During this period, I ensured that I had valid permission both on the date of my departure and on the date of my return to the UK. The time spent outside the UK was less than six months. Since my return, I have continuously resided in the UK without any absences exceeding 180 days in a single period.

However, as I applied for my visa from outside the UK on 3 July 2016, which is 7 days of my visa expiry ( but with in 28 days of visa expiration date ) I am seeking clarification on whether this constitutes a break in continuous residence under the rules outlined in the "Applications from outside the UK" section of the Continuous Residence Guidance https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... le-version

.Specifically, I would like to understand if this gap affects my eligibility for the 10-year ILR route.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or clarification regarding my situation.

Hi Community members,
I have been legally staying in the UK for last 10 years on various visa types ( Tier2 ICT for 5 years + Skilled worker main applicant for 2.5 years + skilled worker dependent for 2.5 years ) .

Now i have been approaching 10 years mile stone being on a skilled worker dependent , will i be eligible for ILR 10 years route spending 10 years on the above visa categories?

Yes you can. If you left the UK with a valid visa and returned within 6 months, then your continuous residence is maintained.
Also beware of the changes: Lawful and continuous residence changes to Long Residence route from 11 April 2024
