Hi guys,

I just wonder if anyone here has attended 13th and/or 14th February ceremony in Dublin and received their certificate yet? Does anyone know how long on average it takes after the ceremony util the certificate is sent?

They have not been issued.

Nobody really knows how long it will take for them to start sending out certificates. It may be tomorrow. It may be 3 months later.

For reference, last time it took 3 weeks. Then the previous one it was 9 weeks. The one before that was 15 weeks. So it’s all up in the air.

They have only done this in the last few ceremonies so we can’t really get a meaningful average so far.

Hi guys, I was sent a small brown envelope postmarked 4th October 2024, which was the approval letter. I paid my citizenship fee €950 the next day, but 6 months later haven't heard anything about citizenship ceremonies. Even though there have been December '24 and February '25 ceremonies. I am worrying if there is some problem because after 6 months it seems odd not to have heard anything. Anyone else who got their approval letter last October still not been given a ceremony date? Is there likely to be a ceremony in June based on past years? Also, is it true that they're planning to hand out naturalization certificates at the ceremony, after people complaining about the delays with receiving them in the post? People say different things about this and confusing.

Citizenship ceremonies are issued by emails. Are you sure your email is correct and it didn't mark emails from INIS as junk mails?
You can and should always ask for an update via portal.irishimmigration.ie or by sending them a registered mail.

We are in a similar, but slightly worse situation. We applied April 2023 with a seemingly straightforward application. Approval was received July 2024, we paid immediately and payment confirmation was received in August. Since then, much to our frustration, we've also heard nothing.
I believe this is in large part due to applications being approved at a much greater rate [1] than there are successful applicants being invited to attend ceremonies [2]. What isn't clear is why some applicants are immediately invited to the next ceremony after receiving approval, while others are made to wait.

Hi all,

Any 2023 applicants got any changes in their status recently? it's already 22 months since submitting My application.

I asked a TD to contact the department and they replied to him with the same response "application for Naturalisation continues to be processed"

just this line is new
"We appreciate that there has been some delay since this application was submitted"

other lines are repeated everywhere, even by the Minster themselves.

"Given the importance of citizenship, robust and comprehensive checks must take place on each application. It is the case that some international checks can take a considerable amount of time and are largely out of the control of the Immigration Service."

What checks really!!? They have and know everything.

I forgot about my application for a while, but now I think it's so unacceptable to this point. it's either approved or rejected just tell me.
