Applying first British passport after Naturalisation - docs required

Post by Win2022 » Wed Apr 16, 2025 5:30 pm

Hello everyone.

I am trying to apply for my first British passport after Naturalisation and when trying to submit online says that following docs should be sent.

Not sure if all these docs are mandatory? And can't to get all these docs related to parents.

Any suggestions? Has anyone encountered the same issue recently?

Applicant's Documents

Send the following:

full birth or adoption certificate (showing both the child's and parents' details)

the passport used to enter the UK

any current or expired passports from other countries that haven't been cancelled

Parents' documents

For 1 of your parents, send 1 of the following:

full birth or adoption certificate (showing both the child's and parents' details)

naturalisation or registration certificate

If you're sending your father's certificate you'll also need to send:

father's marriage or civil partnership certificate to your mother or parent 1

Thanks.

Note the passport form caters for all routes to citizenship!

Applicant's Documents

Send the following:

full birth or adoption certificate (showing both the child's and parents' details) N/A

the passport used to enter the UK YES

any current or expired passports from other countries that haven't been cancelled YES - cancelled means defaced with rubber stamps such as "void" or "cancelled" or corners cut or holes punched.

Parents' documents NONE OF THESE REQUIRED - your claim to citizenship is via naturalisation, therefore include the certificate!

For 1 of your parents, send 1 of the following:

full birth or adoption certificate (showing both the child's and parents' details)

naturalisation or registration certificate

If you're sending your father's certificate you'll also need to send:

father's marriage or civil partnership certificate to your mother or parent 1

Thanks.
