Hit submit by accident when filing supporting paperwork on TLS what do I bring with me to biometrics?

Post by sythgara » Tue Apr 22, 2025 10:40 am

Hello!

Please forgive me if the answer is somewhere in the FAQ, I struggled to find it. I've seen similar post to my situation but i'm not sure of few details. My biometrics is on 24th april

I was submitting my documentation when my partner distracted me, and I thought I was going to the view summary section, while it was a submit button. I sent off most of my documents besides my actual passport, birth certficate and maybe coupel extra supporting documents.

Now I've been made aware that I can pay for the assisted fee and bring documents on the day, but I am not sure if:

-Do I need to do the whole process again in office when I go?

-Do I need to bring everything I already submitted to rescan, along with 88 page pdf of my 5 year bank statements? Do I need to print them out myself? Sounds like a bit of a faff for everyone.

-They say bring only a4 color copies. Does that mean I can't bring original birth cert, letters from hmrc, and even the passport copy needs to be printed? I'd imagine quality would only decrease if people were to make scans of scans. There really isn't a lot of clarity.

-Do I need to pay for the assisted service now or ask for it on the day? IT seemed like i can do it on the day but i don't want to take any chances.

This is being such a stressful process so any advice is welcome
Thank you

PS: A bit of a complaint but I feel like I have to do more 'are you sure?' type of steps when cancelling amazon membership than there were in submitting the documents of such importance. Not the greatest system.

- You will see on the day what the process is like, just bring everything you need to submit and staff will scan it and upload it.
- Why are you scanning bank statements? Those are not needed in the wide majority of cases. Can you list your documents and what you need them for?
- It's fine to bring originals.
- Best to pay for the service ahead of time.

Hello!

So this is for UK naturalisation.
The document checklist asks for:

passport

Proof of living here for 5 years ( I was told since i'm self employed, tax returns and bank statements might be easiest)

My other passport

Most recent tax statement

Two referee declarations

What I've uploaded

The secondary passport, not the one I applied with
Referees
Bank statement pdf
Tax statements
Council tax bill
A leave to remain letter I got after I was granted it, along with old residence card before that was phased out

What I wanted to add

The main passport
polish ID
maybe some bills
Few old rental contracts
Passport photo (?)

I know the requirement list was fairly short, but it does say underneath that sometimes thay might ask for more and I don't wanna take any chances

Not sure what else would be good for proof of living here 5 years

Thank you!

Proof of living here for 5 years ( I was told since i'm self employed, tax returns and bank statements might be easiest) This is not accurate. Bank statements are not proof of living in the UK in any case for citizenship.

My other passport

Two referee declarations

What I've uploaded

The secondary passport, not the one I applied with What do you mean?
Referees OK
Bank statement pdf Not needed!
Tax statements Upload these for each tax year as well with SA302
Council tax bill Not needed if you have the above for the last 5 tax years

Also birth certificates are not required for naturalisation!

This has been asked more than once recently, I am genuinely curious to know where people is seeing that a birth certificate is a requirement for naturalisation as a BC.
