Hello, I am an Irish citizen and I currently live in France, I have a 5 year french residency card and my partner has a French EU family member card. We are thinking about moving to Ireland but we have a few questions first. We will most likely apply under self sufficient funds, we did this in France and it was easy enough.
1. For proof of funds, how much did other people show in your bank account? Under EU law there is no amount stated but it says the requested amount can't be higher than the state benefits.
2. Did anyone show a sponsor who provides money each month? For example a letter and bank statement from your parents that they sent such and such amount to you each month. Apparently this is allowed?
3. For rental, we were thinking about renting via Airbnb or private contract for 5/6 months temporarily will this be sufficient as proof of housing? Just something to get our feet on the ground while waiting for a decision.
4. For health insurance, is there a minimum we should get, I see prices ranging from €40 a month to €150 a month per person, we are young and no health conditions. Will the very basic plan be sufficient? (In France I actually used my Irish ehic card and my partner didn't even get asked for health insurance)
5. As an Irish citizen, for proof of exercising EU rights abroad, obviously I will submit my French residency card, along with my partners which says "EU family member article 10" on it, should I submit any more documents like rental contract, bills in my name etc or will more documents just confuse the visa officer?
Thank you for any advice
