I’m already in the state why do I need travel insurance?
That's the new law. Opt for medical health insurance .

Hello everyone
my timeline for stamp4EUfam as an asylum seeker.
12/08/2024 Application sent with an post
12/09/2024 Temporary stamp4 for 8 months.
20/02/2025 my EU partner lost job and application was in hold..
03/2025 EU treat right contacted us to provide payslips and work contract, they were informed my partner lost the job and they gave us a deadline to get a new job before a decision to be made.
04/2025 my EU partner found a job, send work contract, payslip.
05/2025 Get an approval letter stating to register for stamp4EUfam. Applied online.

No idea how many days will take to get the card delivered ?

Best of luck everyone

Documents Sent - 17/01/2025
Received Acknowledgement letter and request for extra documents - 06/02/2025
Extra documents sent - 25/02/2025
Received Final Approval letter for Stamp4 EUFAM - 06/03/2025
Applied for IRP Renewal online - 09/03/2025
Received the IRP card a few days ago

Thank you to the people on this forum for helping me with the information regarding the application. The forum has been very helpful in filling out this application.

Thank you so much again to all the forum members.
Hi there,
Just check, so you don't receive any temporary stamp 4 letter? Just the final approval for 4 EU Fam itself?
Also, was the request for extra documents sent via email or post to you please? I received the request via email, sent it to them but not sure how I can track the next step or get their confirmation that they are satisfied with the docx.
Thanks so much if you could help.

Hi everyone,

I’m a non-EU national who grew up in Ireland—moved here at age 5 and held a Stamp 4 through my parents, who are now naturalised Irish citizens.

In 2020 I met my partner (an EU citizen). We moved to the Netherlands in 2022 so she could do a master’s, and I’ve been working there as an engineer for the past three years on a Dutch Stamp 4 EUFAM linked to her.

We’re now back in Ireland (arrived March 2025) because she’s expecting. I’ve just received a job offer due to start 1 July 2025, and she’s been offered a place on a master’s here beginning this September. She’s currently working on a short-term contract as an opera singer, and we have substantial savings.

Question:
If I submit my EU Treaty Rights (EUTR1A) application within the next week—with all supporting documents ready—am I likely to receive the temporary Stamp 4 letter before 1 July, so I can begin the new job on time?

(I only need to pop back to the Netherlands briefly to return my former employer’s laptop and badge.)

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Hi,

You could receive the temporary stamp 4 within 4 weeks or more. Depending on the documents you are submitting and timing.

If you are sure your Netherlands RC hasn't been cancelled already ( Normally it's done when you register in another EU country or during your deregistration they cancelled your card) you can travel with your wife there and back. However don't go alone incase they have already cancelled it you will have an issue on arrival in NL, your wife will have to fly there. But if she's accompanying you and you are travelling within EU they have to issue you a visa or entry stamp on arrival if you need one.

Hi,

Since they used your Travel Document to grant you residency you have to use same document to register for the IRP. You don't need to add any additional document of your international protection. The travel document is still valid until it expiry. Just the renewal of the travel document will be the issue later.

When you receive the final decision from the ISD EUTR department after application. Then you can immediately apply for renewal with the new permission letter and relevant document via their customer portal online.

Thanks Angel.

I will have my first time appointment on 3rd June where I should receive a stamp 4 in my passport and I need to go on a trip on 11th June. I read earlier pages in this thread that the IRP card will only be posted within 15 working days, would I be able to travel in and out of Ireland with only stamp 4 in my passport or do I need to wait for my IRP card?
Thank you.

You have to wait for the card itself. Stamp is not sufficient. It can take 2 - 4 weeks. In some cases 6 weeks.

I've cancelled my trip on 11 June to be safe...

I've received a query answer from my immigration portal that I can apply for re-entry visa if I need to travel before receiving my IRP card. However upon checking online, found that re-entry visa has been abolished(?) Has anyone been able to apply this? I have another upcoming booked trip on early July

You can apply for re-entry visa at the Dublin visa office but your reason should be solid. Are you travelling outside the EU?

No, I'm travelling to Italy to visit my husband's family and I have valid Schengen visa for it. My mother-in-law has been feeling unwell for a few months but I don't think there is any doctor's letter or anything because it's not terminal illness *touch wood*. If there is, the letter will be in Italian. Actually my travel is in 3 July, exactly 1 month after my appointment but I'm not sure if I should take a chance to wait for IRP card...

You might receive it before July so best you wait. if you don't receive it the last day of June which is Monday, 30th you can visit the Dublin visa office.

Hey there,

Thanks so much for your advice. I did send 2 follow-up email to them. Both Requesting email address and email address for general questions but haven't heard back from them now. It's been 2 weeks since I posted them. Any advice?
Much appreciated.

Just wait for a week more. if you receive no correspondence, compose a new message. Don't use a follow-up.

Hi Angel,

Will the re-entry visa be approved instantly? Because if it's not then I'll need to apply early.

Great to hear someone received the IRP within 5 working days, i'm monitoring my friend's IRP card as well since she had the appointment on 28 May and based in Dublin. Unfortunately I'm based in Cork, still hopeful though!

@ciaobellaciao

It could take 15 days or few weeks to get issued the visa.
