Help: Can you stay while potential employer is in the process of applying for license, ps: Visa Cancelled

Post by UserK » Wed May 28, 2025 11:25 pm

A friend's visa was recently cancelled so meaning 60 days for them to stay, however an employer has shown interest in hiring them. The issue nonetheless is, the employer just started applications for their license {to employ skilled workers} - in that case, can this friend stay in the UK while the employer COS license application is still awaiting a response?

No, a potential (or even current) employer's Skilled Worker license application does not give a potential employee any leave or right to remain in the UK.

Hi @secret.simon, while this true, I think the OP wants to know if the friend can stay in the UK while the licence application is going on, assuming the licence is issued before the end of the 60 days grace period.
