Guidance Needed - 10 Year Lookback Window

Post by Eggl3ss » Sun Jun 08, 2025 5:06 pm

Hi All,

I currently doing my ILR application (10y route) but need help with the below questions, please.

I have been in the UK since 27th August 2014 but went over the 548 days limit in 10 years before April 2024 so I needed to wait until June 2025 (today) to be compliant. However, let's say for example, if my ILR application date is 8th June 2025 and looking back 10 years ago is 8th June 2015. On 8th June 2015, I was travelling for tourism but didnt break the cointinuous residency ( as I was back to UK without exeeding 180 days in 12 month period). Would I:
1) Still be ok if the lookback start snapshot date (8th Jun 2015) is when I was travelling for holiday?
2) In my application, should I put my date of arrival into the UK as the date as 27th August 2014 which is when I first entered?

Thanks for the help!

Just to clarify on the above, I was on holiday from 23rd May 2015 to 19th Sept 2015. Thank you!

1. Yes, it does not matter
2. That date has no connection to how the 10 years are calculated.
