Family Led travel Budget (FLTB) claim while on ILR

Post by mastidl » Fri Jun 13, 2025 4:25 pm

Hi,

I am on ILR now and eligible to apply British Citizenship in May. I am planning to apply for the citizenship by end of this month.

I have a 12 year old special child who was attending the special school in the transport provided by council. This month due to his change in behaviour, the council cancelled the school transport and asked us to go with either Mileage payment or FLTB(family led travel budget).

My son is yet to get ILR and he will be eligible by 13 JUL 2025.

My question is,

Is FLTB a public fund? if yes, will it impact either my citizenship application or my son's ILR application.

Thanks

Only local authority funding administered under section 1 of the Localism Act 2011 would be a public fund. This sounds like an assessed transport need and a personal travel budget funded under Section 49 of the Children and Families Act 2014 so would not be a public fund. You can confirm that with the local authority.
