Supporting documents for Uk Tourist Visa - family member (Brother in Law)

Post by Mt1505 » Tue Jun 17, 2025 11:09 pm

Dear sir/Madam,
I hope you are well.
I am british citizen andUk
lost my job a few months back, currently on job seeker allowance. My wife is Nepalese citizen, holing ilr and work full time in NHS.
I have a son who is british as well.
We owns a three bedroom house.
However, I am trying to invite my brother in law to the UK on tourist visa. Please send me the list of documents I need to send my brother in law to support the application.
1. Do I need my or my wife bank statement to send eventhough my brother in law will pay for all his trip expenses other than accomodation cost as he will live in our spare bedroom.
2.
He has around £4k saving in account. Is it going to be enough for his 4 weeks trip.
3. Do we need to send invitations letter or sponsorship letter, if so, could you send me the template please
4. Any other documents you think we should send to support the application for tourist visa
Thanks

The first question to consider for a tourist visa is always, what ties to their home country does the applicant have that outweigh their ties to the UK? Does your brother-in-law have a job or a business to return to? Does he have a steady income in his home country?
I am not a lawyer or immigration advisor. My statements/comments do not constitute legal advice. E&OE. Please do not PM me for advice.
